AAOU Meritorious Service Award (2008) 

The Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU) awarded Dr. Weiyuan Zhang, the 2008 AAOU Meritorious Service Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the development of open and distance learning (ODL) in Asia. The prize presentation ceremony, which occurred in conjunction with the opening ceremony of the 22nd AAOU Annual Conference on October 14 in Tianjin, China, attracted nearly 500 participants from 21 countries and regions.
